Massive Drug Bust in Karimganj: Authorities Seize Banned Drugs Worth Rs 66 Crore

Guwahati, 12th June: In a major anti-drug operation, authorities in Karimganj seized banned drugs valued at approximately Rs 66 crore in the Lamajuar area. The joint operation was led by IGP STF Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das.

During the operation, officials recovered 220,000 banned Yaba tablets hidden inside the back lights of an unnumbered Bolero Camper vehicle originating from Mizoram. Three individuals from Tripura, identified as Khairul Hussain, Nabir Hussain, and Man Mia, were arrested in connection with the seizure.

Partha Sarathi Mahanta praised the successful seizure and arrest, underscoring the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
