Guwahati: A major fire broke out in Loharikasarigaon near Hukanpukhuri in Tinsukia on Tuesday night.
Several houses were gutted in the fire. It is learnt that due to the explosion of two cylinders, the fire took a more serious turn.
Four rented houses were gutted in the fire that broke out at the residence of one Babul Khan.
No one was injured in the fire but goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire. Locals alleged that the fire brigade was rushed to the spot but the fire brigade arrived late.
As a result, the fire took a more dangerous form and four houses were completely gutted.
It is not yet known how the fire broke out. The Tinsukia police arrived overnight and started investigating the matter.
