Guwahati, 22nd September: A substantial landslide has recently been reported at the Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Power project, operated by the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC). The incident involved hills on the right side of the dam, causing significant concern within the project area.
In response to this landslide, which occurred after the completion of the main dam, the main diversion tunnel was reopened. There are growing apprehensions about the potential for future landslides in the same hill area, which could lead to gradual land subsidence.
