Massive Landslide Forces Shutdown of Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim

A significant landslide has struck the 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station in Balutar, Sikkim, leading to its immediate closure. The plant, situated in the landslide-prone Teesta basin, has been taken offline as a precautionary measure.

No casualties have been reported following the landslide. NHPC officials are currently assessing the damage and coordinating with local authorities to ensure site safety.
