Guwahati: The Kamrup district administration in Assam has launched a huge campaign against unlicensed and illegal brick kilns.
Several unauthorised brick kilns in the Nagarbera area were dismantled on Monday by the district administration and police.
The district administration said that some persons were operating brick kilns in the region without authorization.
According to Circle Officer of Nagarbera Banashree Malakar stated that the district government has carried out operations against illicit and unlicensed brick kilns in several parts of the district.
“Earlier, we warned them that, don’t run the brick kilns without proper permission from the government, but they didn’t follow,” Malakar said.
“Today we have conducted operations against these illegal brick kilns and demolished several unauthorised brick kilns in the area,” Malakar added.
