Massive Road Mishap At Assam’s Jakhalabandha; 7 Feared Dead

Guwahati: Assam’s Independence Day celebrations took a turn for the worse after at least two persons were killed instantly in a major road accident on Monday at Jakhalabandha.

The incident took place at Rangaloo near Jakhalabandha.

According to reports, the collision was caused by a speeding four-wheeler colliding with a stalled tanker.

The vehicle, a Swift Dzire was travelling from Kaziranga and was headed towards Sipajhar. A total of seven passengers including the driver were in it when the accident took place.

According to locals, the impact of the collision was so great that the car slid underneath the truck.

It’s believed that the passengers were drinking alcohol when they were behind the wheel.

While police are yet to arrive at the spot, all of them are feared to be dead in the accident.
