Master plan for eight cities approved by Assam government

Guwahati, 22nd November: The Master Plan for eight cities in Assam, including Rangapara, Gahpur, Sootea, Jamugurihat, Bokakhat, Lakhipur, and Badarpur, has received approval from the Advisory Committee of the Directorate of Village & Town Planning.

Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal shared this announcement on his X handle. The revised Master Plan for Dibrugarh city was also studied and approved during the meeting.

“I’m pleased to announce that in today’s Advisory Committee meeting of the Directorate of Village & Town Planning, we sanctioned the Master Plans for 8 cities in Assam.

The cities mentioned are Rangapara, Gahpur, Sootea, Jamugurihat, Bokakhat, Lakhipur, and Badarpur. These cities are now on track for a comprehensive transformation and upgrade of their urban and civic infrastructure, following the approved master plans.

Additionally, the meeting included a review and approval of the revised Master Plan for Dibrugarh city. MLA Kamalaksha Dey Purkayastha, Zakir Hussain Laskar, Ritubaran Sarma, VC, AMTRON, along with senior departmental officials, were also present during the session,” mentioned Singhal.
