Civic body elections saw a turnout of about 9% of eligible voters up to 10:30 am.
Elections for civic bodies are currently taking place in the national capital under heavy security.
250 wards are up for election which started at 8 am and ends at 5:30 pm.
The high-stakes civic elections, which are primarily considered as a three-way race between the BJP, the AAP and the Congress will feature around 1.45 crore eligible voters and 1,349 candidates.
The counting of votes will be done on December 7.
Data from the State Election Commission shows that there are 1,45,05,358 registered voters in Delhi overall, including 78,93,418 men, 66,10,879 women, and 1 061 transgender people. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has 250 wards (MCD).

68 model polling places have been set up with amenities including a waiting space or lounge, candy or toffee delivery to voters, a selfie station, and Civil Defense Volunteers to assist those with disabilities and senior residents.
A feeding room for nursing mothers, a creche for young children accompanying voters, swings for children, and a selfie booth are among the amenities set up in the 68 pink booths.
Notably, while the Congress is attempting to reclaim lost ground, both the AAP and the BJP have professed confidence that they will win the elections.
In the first municipal election held in the capital following the ward delineation, the BJP, which has controlled the civic body in Delhi since 2007, is hoping to continue its winning ways while the Aam Aadmi Party, which holds a majority in the Assembly, is hoping to gain ground.
After the new delimitation procedure, this is the first civic election. From 2012 to 2022, Delhi had 272 wards and three corporations—NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC—which were later reunified into an MCD, which had officially been established on May 22.
