Meghalaya: 17 dacoits arrested, recovered 45 stolen bikes
Guwahati: The Meghalaya police arrested at least 17 dacoits on Wednesday in a well-planned operation and seized 45 bikes and 17 cell phones from their possession.
Taking to Twitter, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said, “Dacoits from various areas tried to engage in criminal activities to jeopardise the peace in Meghalaya, but West Garo Hills police apprehended 17 dacoits and recovered 45 bikes and 17 mobile phones in a well-synchronized operation.”
Meanwhile, the state’s chief minister has pleaded with residents to help authorities fight the threat of organised crime.
