Shillong: The Cantonment Beat House police detained 20 suspected drug users during a targeted operation along GS Road. The individuals were found loitering near the intersection of Ajmera and Boucher Road, obstructing public walkways.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed the detentions, noting that the suspects were processed and bound under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Detailed profiles of each individual were documented by the police, who then determined appropriate legal measures under the BNSS framework.
