Meghalaya: 4 Jail Escapees Lynched to Death, Bodies to be Identified yet

Guwahati: A mob lynched to death four out of the six criminals who recently broke out of the Jowai jail in Meghalaya on Sunday (September 10) in the Shangpung village of West Jaintia Hills district.

The Meghalaya DGP LP Bishnoi was quoted by ANI as saying, “The remains would be transferred to the hospital and after that, identification of the deceased will come to know.”

Six inmates broke out of the Jowai district jail earlier on Saturday after overwhelming the jail officials.

“The criminals who escaped from the jail are- I Love You Talang, Ramesh Dkhar, Marsanki Tariang, Rikmenlang Lamare, Shidorki Dkhar and Lodestar Tang,” DGP Bishnoi said.

I Love You Talang and Ramesh Dkhar were detained in connection with a twin murder investigation.
