Meghalaya: 41 Candidates Shortlisted in Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities

Shillong: A job fair dedicated to persons with disabilities (PwDs) has successfully shortlisted 41 candidates for employment, marking a significant step towards inclusive hiring.

Organized by the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSC-DA), under the Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Ministry of Labour & Employment, the event aimed to facilitate the integration of PwDs into the workforce.

The fair, held in collaboration with the American India Foundation, attracted 79 candidates with various disabilities, including locomotor disabilities, speech and hearing impairments, and visual impairments. Six companies—Reliance Retail, Domino’s Pizza, Compass Group, Teleperformance, Employment Express, and Anamata Outsourcing Pvt Ltd—offered positions for roles such as delivery associate, HR recruiter, and customer support.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including JP Lakiang, Director of Employment, Government of Meghalaya, who served as the chief guest, and Ram Shakal Sahani, Director of the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) in Shillong, along with other government and partner organization representatives.
