Meghalaya: 4750 kgs of marijuana seized in Ri-Bhoi
Northeast Desk, 4th March: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took to the microblogging site X today to laud the extraordinary efforts of the Ri-Bhoi District Police. Their relentless pursuit of justice led to the discovery and seizure of an astounding 4750 kilograms of pure-grade marijuana, valued at an impressive Rs. 20 crore.
Expressing his satisfaction in sharing this accomplishment, the Chief Minister emphasized the significant impact of the operation in safeguarding communities from the destructive consequences of drug abuse. He extended his commendations to Dr. L R Bishnoi, IPS, and the entire Meghalaya Police team for their exemplary dedication and diligence in combating this menace.
Chief Minister Sangma emphasized the monumental significance of this achievement in preventing a tidal wave of harm, thereby safeguarding countless lives and communities from the destructive grip of drugs.
However, he also underscored that the battle against narcotics is ongoing and far from over. Sangma urged citizens to remain vigilant and proactive, emphasizing the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to authorities. He highlighted that such collective action is essential in fortifying Meghalaya’s resolve to foster a safer and healthier state for all its inhabitants.
