Meghalaya: AITC gaining support in Khasi, Jaintia Hills
Guwahati: George B Lyngdoh, the chief whip of the All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC), said on Wednesday that the party has genuine individuals working on the ground to expand its base in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region.
According to him, the surge of support indicates that the party’s candidates have a good chance of winning the 2023 elections in numerous areas.
“The party is gaining a lot of new workers in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills, even in constituencies where we don’t have any MLAs,” Lyngdoh remarked.
“If the support rises, I envision many of our candidates’ winning elections in this region,” he remarked, referring to the AITC’s electoral prospects beyond the Garo Hills.
People are truly concerned about the problems ailing the state, according to Lyngdoh, and many of those joining the party are former government employees with a social standing.
He stated, “People want change and are tired of people who put on a show of strength.”
According to him, the AITC intends to win big in the 2023 Assembly elections, but it all depends on how hard the party and its workers work.
