Shillong: Shillong residents can now access specialised healthcare services locally, following the inauguration of the Apollo Trinity Medical Centre in Lower Nongrim Hills on February 19.
The facility was officially launched by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, marking a significant step towards enhancing medical infrastructure in Meghalaya.
The state-of-the-art medical centre connects patients with specialists and super-specialists from across India through its outpatient consultation services. This initiative aims to reduce the need for residents to travel outside the state for advanced medical consultations. The centre is also equipped with a direct link to Apollo Diagnostics, ensuring comprehensive testing capabilities and timely delivery of diagnostic results.
The facility boasts modern diagnostic equipment, including cardiac monitoring systems, ultrasound, x-ray facilities, and an integrated laboratory. It also features specialised departments for dental care, eye treatment, and physiotherapy, offering a wide range of medical services under one roof.
Patients in Shillong can now access advanced diagnostic services such as echocardiography, pulmonary function testing, and treadmill tests locally, eliminating the need to travel long distances for specialised tests. The centre is designed to enhance healthcare accessibility and convenience for residents, ensuring they receive quality medical care close to home.
During the launch, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasised the importance of improving healthcare infrastructure to cater to the growing medical needs of the population. Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh echoed this sentiment, highlighting the centre’s role in elevating healthcare standards in Meghalaya.
The Apollo Trinity Medical Centre is expected to significantly enhance medical services in Shillong, contributing to the state’s vision of accessible and high-quality healthcare for all its residents.
