Meghalaya: Authorities Identify Three of Four Victims Found Dead in East Jaintia Hills

Northeast Desk, 8th July: Authorities have identified three of the four male victims found dead with severe injuries in Umpleng, East Jaintia Hills. The latest identification reveals Rajesh Rai, a 26-year-old from Dharan Sunsari, Koshi Anchal, Nepal, as one of the deceased.

Previously, two other victims were identified: Ravi Rai, 23, from Elam, Mechipradesh, Nepal, and Nasar Kyndait, 33, from Dkhiah East in East Jaintia Hills. The fourth victim remains unidentified.

The bodies were discovered on the morning of July 6 by laborers working in a remote area behind the Umpleng market. All victims were found with their hands bound by rope and showing signs of extreme violence, with one victim’s head nearly severed.
