Meghalaya: Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter to Perform in Shillong in 2025

Shillong: As the curtains fell on the vibrant Cherry Blossom Festival 2024, organizers unveiled an exciting announcement: Nick Carter of the iconic Backstreet Boys will be gracing the stage in Shillong in March 2025 as part of his “WHO I AM” world tour.

The anticipation for Carter’s performance is palpable, with tickets set to go on sale from December 1, 2024.

This year’s festival, held in Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi district, captivated audiences with a diverse lineup of international and Indian artists. The event featured electrifying performances by global sensations like Boney M, Clean Bandit, and Akon, as well as renowned Indian artists such as Kanika Kapoor and Jasleen Royal.

On November 15, Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, graced the festival as the chief guest. He was warmly welcomed by Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, who expressed gratitude for his presence.

Scindia and Sangma explored the festival venue, immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of events. The minister praised the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd, highlighting their deep-rooted love for music.

A particular highlight of this year’s festival was the “Japan Arena,” which showcased the cultural exchange and strong bond between Meghalaya and Japan.
