South West Garo Hills – Senior border officials from India and Bangladesh convened on Tuesday at the Border Outpost Mahenderganj in South West Garo Hills, aiming to reinforce security collaboration in the northeastern region. The high-level meeting focused on enhancing cross-border coordination between the two nations.
The Indian delegation, led by BSF Deputy Inspector General Lalit Mohan Sharma, and the Bangladeshi team, headed by BGB Deputy Director General Sarkar Mohammd Mostafir, discussed the implementation of the Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP). This framework is designed to strengthen joint efforts in maintaining peace and security along the shared borders.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed current security protocols and explored new strategies to improve cooperation. Both delegations emphasised the importance of swiftly executing the newly agreed-upon measures, underlining their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the border.
The meeting signified the growing collaboration between India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh’s Border Guard (BGB), further building on their existing security framework. The discussions concluded with both parties reaffirming their dedication to strengthening bilateral security ties through enhanced coordination, regular dialogue, and continued partnership.
