Meghalaya: BSF and BGB Hold Sector-Level Meeting to Strengthen Border Security Cooperation
Shillong: In a significant step toward regional stability, commanders of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) met on January 22 near the international border in Meghalaya to discuss critical border management challenges.
The meeting was led by BSF’s Manoj Kumar Barnwal, DIG Sector HQ Shillong, and BGB’s Md. Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Deputy Director General from Sylhet.
Both commanders engaged in diplomatic discussions aimed at enhancing security cooperation along the India-Bangladesh border.
The core focus of the meeting was the Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP), which seeks to address complex border issues through enhanced bilateral collaboration.
Both sides shared a commitment to resolving cross-border challenges through dialogue and mutual understanding, with an emphasis on maintaining regional tranquility.
The meeting underscored the growing trust between India and Bangladesh and highlighted their dedication to sustainable border security. It was agreed that regular coordination meetings would be held to ensure continued collaboration and peaceful management of the border.
