Meghalaya BSF and BGB Officials Collaborate Amid Border Tensions
Northeast Desk, 12th August: In response to ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, the Commandant of the 193 Battalion of the Meghalaya Border Security Force (BSF) met with the Commanding Officer of the 28 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The two officials discussed enhancing cooperation to maintain border security and safety along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
The meeting follows a successful joint operation by BSF and Meghalaya Police, which led to the apprehension of seven Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian facilitators. The arrests occurred at a checkpoint in a depth area, reflecting a significant achievement in border security operations.
The operation is part of a broader strategy by BSF Meghalaya to strengthen security measures in light of increased tensions along the border. The apprehended individuals have been handed over to local police for further legal action.
