Meghalaya Chief Minister Praises Police for Drug Seizure and Vice Raids
Northeast Desk, 29th October: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma commended the East Jaintia Hills Police for their recent success in seizing a substantial quantity of heroin worth Rs 1.5 Crores from an interstate drug trafficker near Khliehriat. Taking to social media, Chief Minister Sangma expressed his concerns about drug traffickers targeting the youth in Meghalaya and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of its young population. He praised the efforts of the East Jaintia Hills Police in tackling the drug menace.
In a related development, the East Khasi Hills district police conducted a series of vice raids during the Puja celebrations to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. These operations led to the seizure of a significant amount of liquor, including Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and illicit liquor, in various locations within the district.
The police conducted vice raids at multiple locations to prevent untoward incidents during the festive event and ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
