Meghalaya CM Brings Hope and Development to Tangmang Village

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma made a historic visit to Tangmang village under the Pynursla constituency, marking a significant milestone in the region’s development journey. The visit brought a wave of hope and promise to the community, as the Chief Minister engaged with residents and announced transformative initiatives.

During a CM Connect session, residents shared their aspirations with the Chief Minister, who responded with tangible promises. Sangma announced the setting up of a Handicraft Training Centre in Tangmang to preserve and promote the area’s unique artisan heritage. He also promised to build a new school building for Tangmang Secondary School, fulfilling a student’s heartfelt request.

Sangma reaffirmed his government’s commitment to grassroots progress, emphasizing that every village deserves access to development and opportunity. “As a government, we are continuing in our efforts to leave no village behind,” he said. The Chief Minister’s words resonated with the community, who welcomed his people-first approach to governance.

The day also saw the Chief Minister trekking through the breathtaking landscapes of Mawkynrot to experience the iconic Living Root Bridges. Sangma announced plans to develop a trekking circuit connecting Mawkyrnot, Rangthylliang, and Mynrieng villages, along with a Living Root Bridges Experience Centre. The initiative aims to offer visitors an immersive eco-tourism journey steeped in nature and culture.

The visit brought new energy to the Pynursla region, blending infrastructure promises with respect for tradition and environment. Sangma’s engagement with the community and commitment to development initiatives have reaffirmed the government’s people-first approach to governance, inspiring hope and optimism among residents.
