Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma Addresses Citizen Grievances in South West Garo Hills

Northeast Desk, 26th July: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma engaged with residents during a block-level community interaction programme in Ampati, South West Garo Hills, as part of the CM Connect initiative. The event facilitated direct communication between the government and citizens, with department heads and district officials present to address public concerns.

Residents raised issues such as poor road conditions and irregular power supply. Sangma resolved several matters on the spot, distributed cheques to beneficiaries, and promised further investigation into more complex problems. He emphasized the importance of ongoing communication between the government and citizens, encouraging the use of the dedicated helpline number 1971 for voicing concerns. Sangma called on government officials to demonstrate serious commitment to resolving issues.

In support of local communities, cheques totaling Rs 3.20 crore were distributed to women’s groups and self-help organizations. Additionally, six individuals from different Garo Hills districts received agriculture response vehicles under the CM Elevate programme.

The event, held under the tagline “We Listen, We Resolve, We Deliver,” was attended by Power Minister A T Mondal and several regional MLAs. CM Connect aims to enhance transparency and public participation in governance by facilitating direct communication between citizens and the government.
