Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma Signs Key MoUs at Climate Investments Summit
New Delhi: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma participated in the 2nd Climate Investments and Technology Impact Summit in New Delhi, marking a pivotal step toward the state’s sustainable development and technological advancement.
The summit focused on innovative strategies to combat climate change through green investments and cutting-edge technological solutions. Several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event, paving the way for major development projects in Meghalaya:
- Advance Farming Cluster Project – Investment of ₹125 crore aimed at enhancing agricultural practices.
- Multipurpose Convention Centre, University Campus, Recreation & Associated Facilities – Valued at ₹1300 crore, this project seeks to bolster infrastructure for education and recreation.
- Meghalaya Cable Car Ropeway Project – Worth ₹500 crore, this initiative promises to improve connectivity and boost tourism.
- Sustainable Waste Management Project – With ₹125 crore, the project will focus on converting septic and sewage waste into natural fertilizers.
- Artificial Intelligence Development – A ₹1500 crore investment to foster AI innovation in the state.
- Hydropower Development Project – ₹1000 crore allocated for harnessing clean energy through hydropower.
These projects are expected to drive Meghalaya’s sustainable development agenda while addressing climate challenges. Speaking at the summit, CM Sangma emphasized the importance of integrating green technologies and investments to ensure environmental resilience and economic growth.
