Meghalaya: CM Conrad Sangma Highlights SPARK Initiative at Summit in Tura

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma highlighted the government’s commitment to student empowerment while addressing the SPARK Summit in Tura, focusing on fostering communication, resilience, and life skills among students across the state.

SPARK, which stands for School Programmes in Articulation, Resilience, and Kindness, is designed to equip students with the tools to become confident communicators and innovative thinkers, preparing them for future challenges.

During his speech, Sangma reiterated the government’s vision to transform Meghalaya into a 10 billion US Dollar economy, urging the youth to play an active role in shaping the state’s economic future. He also emphasized other key initiatives like SPARK, MOTHER, and the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Mission, reflecting a holistic approach to education and community growth.

The summit also celebrated the contributions of partner institutions, and tablets were distributed to students to enhance digital learning and improve their academic experience.

As part of a one-year pilot programme, SPARK will cover 12 districts, reaching 25 schools, and aims to benefit over 5,000 students by equipping them with essential life skills and fostering a spirit of innovation and kindness.
