Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Reaffirms Stable Governance Amid Coalition Concerns

Northeast Desk, 6th June: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on June 5 held a crucial meeting with coalition partners of the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government, addressing concerns and reinforcing commitments to stable governance and transparency.

Sangma, who also serves as the NPP national chief and chairman of the MDA, discussed the recent electoral setbacks and highlighted the need for a comprehensive analysis before reacting to the disappointing results. The meeting included marathon discussions with key coalition partners, such as the UDP and BJP, focusing on collaborative efforts to serve the public effectively based on the mandate from the assembly elections.

Responding to allegations of scams, Sangma criticized the hasty labeling of incidents as scams without substantial evidence. He emphasized that thorough inquiries into the allegations revealed no basis, urging the public to avoid premature conclusions without verified facts and figures.

The Chief Minister addressed the narratives questioning the government’s integrity but reassured that the administration maintained maximum transparency and had nothing to conceal. He underscored the commitment to transparent governance and reaffirmed that the NPP-led MDA government is poised to complete its full five-year term, ensuring stability and effective governance for the people of Meghalaya.
