Meghalaya CM Inaugurates Creative Learning Centre in East Garo Hills, Lays Foundation for Urban Water Supply Scheme
Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on January 27 inaugurated the Creative Learning Centre at Dobakkol in the East Garo Hills district.
The initiative, funded through the Chief Minister Special Development Fund with an allocation of ₹50 lakh, aims to transform early childhood education in the region.
The Creative Learning Centre, a joint effort by Mere Mentor and Dobakkol Non-Government L.P. School in Tura, focuses on activity-based and game-based learning methods.
The center is designed to nurture key developmental skills in children, including cognitive, motor, language, socio-emotional, and self-regulation abilities.
This innovative approach seeks to create a holistic and engaging educational environment that prepares children to navigate future challenges with confidence.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Sangma also laid the foundation for the Greater Tura Urban Water Supply Scheme in West Garo Hills.
With a project cost of ₹398.48 crore, the scheme will address water shortages in Tura by covering 37 localities and is designed to serve a projected population of 270,000 by 2055.
Both initiatives underscore the Meghalaya government’s commitment to fostering development through improved infrastructure and education in the state.
