Meghalaya CM Initiates Construction of Synthetic Artificial Turf
Northeast Desk, 5th March: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on March 5 laid the foundation stone for a Synthetic Artificial Turf at Umbuda in Ri Bhoi district. Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri accompanied Sangma for the ceremony marking the commencement of the sports infrastructure project, estimated at a cost of Rs 10.93 crore.
Expressing the government’s commitment to developing sports infrastructure across the state, Sangma highlighted ongoing projects totaling Rs 700 crore. Additional funds are being allocated for the next financial year to further enhance infrastructure development.
The Meghalaya government has allocated over Rs 2800 crore in this year’s youth budget, intending to invest in sectors such as education, music, culture, and entrepreneurship. These investments aim to harness and channel the positive energy of the youth towards productive avenues.
