Meghalaya Cricket Association Announces New Leadership Appointments

Shillong: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has announced new appointments to its leadership. Former Vice-President Rayonald Kharkamni has been appointed as the new Honorary Secretary, while Sengnab Momin, previously serving as a Councillor, has been elevated to the position of Vice-President.

These appointments follow the resignation of Honorary Secretary Gideon Kharkongor, who stepped down due to increasing professional commitments. Kharkongor will continue to be associated with the MCA as a Member Councillor.

The leadership changes were approved by the MCA’s general body, which authorized the Apex Council to manage the transition.

A Special General Meeting held on February 1st ratified these decisions, and subsequently, former Electoral Officer W Khyllep conducted a by-election process. All three candidates were declared elected unopposed.

The appointments were made in accordance with the MCA’s Memorandum of Association and governing regulations. The elected officials received their certificates from Mr. Khyllep, who previously served as the Chief Electoral Officer for the Government of Meghalaya.
