Meghalaya Cricket Association Announces Squad for Ranji Trophy 2024-25

Northeast Desk, 18th September: The Meghalaya Cricket Association’s senior men’s selection committee has unveiled the squad for the first two matches of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. After a strong performance in the Plate Group last season, the team has earned a promotion to the Elite Group.

The 12-player squad, featuring three open spots for guest professionals, will kick off their campaign with an away match against Services from October 11 to 14. They will then return home to face Tripura in Shillong from October 18 to 21.

The selection includes a mix of familiar faces like Kishan Lyngdoh, Dippu Sangma, and Akash Kumar Choudhary, along with new talents Arpit Bhatewara and Roshan Warbah. Prabhakar Bairgond, previously the high-performance coach for the Meghalaya U-23 women’s team, will serve as the head coach.

The squad includes Aryan Borah, Akash Kumar Choudhary, Arpit Bhatewara, Bamanbha Shangpliang, Bijon Dey, Chengkam Sangma, Dippu Sangma, Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva, Kishan Lyngdoh, Ram Gurung, Roshan Warbah, and Swarajeet Das. The standbys are Adarsh Joshi, Anish Charak, Lerry G Sangma, Shembhalang Pyngrope, and Yogesh Tiwari.

The team is currently in Cuttack for a preparatory camp and will depart for the tournament on October 8. The support staff includes assistant coach Moisten Ch Marak, physio Surojit Biswas, trainer Vikash Singh Chauhan, and team manager Dister Marbaniang.
