Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Urges Dialogue and Peace Amid Petrol Bomb Attacks
Northeast Desk, 29th April: Prestone Tynsong, Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister, has taken a resolute stance for peace in the aftermath of a series of petrol bomb attacks shaking Shillong. Speaking out against the violence, Tynsong, also overseeing the Home portfolio, emphasized the necessity for dialogue to address underlying grievances.
“Creating disturbances will not solve problems,” asserted Tynsong, urging citizens to abstain from resorting to violence. He further extended an invitation, stating, “We are ready to meet with any disgruntled groups or individuals to discuss their concerns.”
Underlining the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and justice, Tynsong mentioned ongoing investigations into the attacks. “We have instructed the Director General of Police to investigate these incidents thoroughly. We will find the culprits,” he assured.
Expressing the futility of violence, Tynsong implored citizens to uphold peace and refrain from taking the law into their own hands. “Throwing stones or petrol bombs won’t achieve anything. We urge all citizens to maintain peace,” he concluded.
