Meghalaya Exit Little Masters Trophy After Semifinal Washed Out, Assam and Tripura Advance

Guwahati: Meghalaya’s impressive run in the 1st Little Masters Trophy 2025 came to an unfortunate end after persistent bad weather forced the cancellation of their semifinal clash against Tripura.

The semifinal, originally scheduled for April 28 and postponed to the reserve day on April 29, could not be played due to unrelenting rain. The same fate befell the second semifinal between Assam and Manipur.

With no further time left in the tournament schedule, the organising committee, under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, decided that the group toppers — Assam from Group A and Tripura from Group B — would move on to the final, slated for April 30 in Guwahati. If inclement weather continues, both teams will be declared joint winners.

Meghalaya had a strong group stage performance, defeating Mizoram by 47 runs and Arunachal Pradesh by seven wickets, but lost to Assam by nine wickets. Despite not getting a shot at the knockout stage due to rain, their performance remains a positive takeaway for the team and supporters.
