Meghalaya Ginger Reaches Dubai, Marking Global Trade Milestone

Shillong: Meghalaya’s distinctive ginger has officially entered the Dubai market this season, achieving international recognition.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced this “proud moment” via his X account, signaling a significant step for the state’s agricultural exports.

Eight farmers from Meghalaya spearheaded this achievement, traveling to Dubai to gain direct exposure to international markets and understand global trade practices.

“This milestone ensures better income and strengthens Meghalaya’s position in the global spice trade,” stated CM Sangma, emphasizing the state’s increasing global presence.

The debut of Meghalaya’s premium ginger is projected to elevate farmers’ earnings and solidify the state’s standing within the international spice trade.

The Chief Minister expressed his delight at this accomplishment, underscoring its role in enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers and promoting the global recognition of Meghalaya’s agricultural products.

This development unlocks new pathways for economic expansion and reinforces the state’s position as a prominent participant in the global spice market.
