Meghalaya Govt to issue transit passes for cattle transportation

Guwahati: Meghalaya government decided to issue transit passes to cattle traders for smooth transportation of cattle from outside the state.

According to reports, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has already instructed the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department to issue the passes so that there will be no difficulties in cattle transportation in the state.

Talking about the Assam government’s condition that the cattle traders would have to carry a transit pass, Tynsong said that the Meghalaya government has already raised the issue with the Assam government.

It may be mentioned that Sanbor Shullai, the Minister of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, announced that a notification had been issued for the issuance of transit passes to local cattle traders.
