Meghalaya Government Activates Helpline in Response to North East Express Derailment in Bihar’s Buxar
Northeast Desk, 12th October: In response to the tragic derailment of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express in Bihar’s Buxar district, the Government of Meghalaya has taken swift action. The incident, which claimed the lives of 4 individuals and left more than 70 passengers injured, has prompted the activation of a helpline number for Meghalaya citizens.
The helpline number, 1800-345-3644, is now available for Meghalaya residents who require assistance in the wake of this unfortunate event. This helpline, managed by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), is a crucial resource for those affected by the derailment.
In case of emergency, citizens can also reach out to specific individuals for coordination and issue resolution. Shri. K Thabah at Meghalaya House Guwahati (7896167945), Shri. Furthermore, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on October 12, conveyed his concerns to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He discussed the treatment of the injured and casualties, ensuring that all injured passengers are receiving medical attention and arrangements are being made for their onward journey. State officials are closely collaborating to offer assistance to residents of Meghalaya during this challenging time.
