Meghalaya Government’s 5-Point Agenda Highlighted by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma
Northeast Desk, 27th November: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasized the government’s 5-Point Agenda during the inauguration of key road infrastructures in East Garo Hills.
The agenda comprises “Road for All, Power for All, Housing for All, Information for All, and Water for All,” aiming for comprehensive development.
As he inaugurated vital road projects, Sangma underlined the significance of roads for overall development, stating that they are crucial for progress.
The inaugurated roads and bridges include the L051-Nengmandalgre to Daribokgre Road (35 kms), L042 Cherangre to Sisobibra Road (7.820 kms), and long-span bridges over rivers Rongon and Rongre.
Sangma expressed gratitude for the sanctioned Rs. 1600 crores under the PMAY for 1500 houses in 2023-2024 and acknowledged Meghalaya’s commendable performance in PMGSY.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong highlighted the roads’ positive impact on economic, health, and an educational aspect, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring development reaches every village.
He urged cooperation from local leaders for land acquisition under PMGSY’s plan to develop 1200 kms of roads across the state.
The total sanction cost for the Long Span Bridges is Rs. 176.969 lakhs and Rs. 151.140 lakhs for Rongre and Rongon rivers, respectively.
