Meghalaya Govt Assures Resolution for SSA Teachers’ Concerns

Shillong: The Meghalaya government has vowed to address the concerns of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers and other educators in the state.

Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, while acknowledging the invaluable contribution of these teachers, assured that the government is diligently working towards a solution, albeit a time-consuming process.

The minister’s statement came in response to a proposal by the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) seeking a 70% reservation for SSA teachers in upcoming recruitment drives for vacant teaching positions.

In a positive development, the state government has already approved a policy raising the upper age limit to 45 years for serving SSA teachers applying for government teaching positions. This decision applies to all levels of education, from primary to higher secondary.
