Meghalaya Govt Meets 16th Finance Commission, Outlines Strategic Development Roadmap
Northeast Desk, 30th September: The Government of Meghalaya, led by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, held a crucial meeting with the 16th Finance Commission on September 30, 2024, presenting a detailed overview of the state’s challenges and future aspirations.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sangma welcomed *Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission, and other members to Shillong. The state government used the opportunity to introduce a *strategic roadmap aimed at ensuring overall development and transforming Meghalaya into an exemplary state with the support of the commission.
CM Sangma emphasized the importance of the commission’s assistance in realizing the state’s goals. In a significant gesture, the State Memorandum was handed over to Dr. Panagariya, outlining the key priorities and needs of Meghalaya for its long-term growth and sustainability.
Taking to social media platform X, Sangma shared updates from the meeting, expressing gratitude for the commission’s engagement. He stated, “We are grateful for the 16th Finance Commission’s engaged listening and expert recommendations, and look forward to working together to make Meghalaya an exemplary state, playing a vital role in ever-growing India.”
