Meghalaya High Court Bomb Threat Turns Out to Be Hoax; Security Measures Ensured Safety

Northeast Desk, 19th June: The bomb threat email received by the High Court of Meghalaya on June 18 was determined to be a hoax, identified as a spam mail according to media reports. Upon receiving the threat, Meghalaya police swiftly heightened security at the High Court and conducted thorough checks throughout the premises.

In response to the threat, a bomb disposal squad was deployed to ensure safety and prevent any potential incidents. The investigation into the origin of the spam mail is ongoing, with the cyber cell actively examining the details of the source.

This incident follows a similar bomb threat received by the Meghalaya High Court in January of this year, coinciding with bomb threats sent to several courts across the country on the same day.

Additionally, on June 18, a Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight from Chennai received a bomb threat message. The flight landed safely at Mumbai airport around 10:30 pm, with all passengers disembarked without incident. The airline confirmed the threat and assured that all necessary protocols were followed to ensure passenger safety.

These recent incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in managing and responding to bomb threats, ensuring public safety and maintaining security protocols effectively.
