Meghalaya: Inter-State Youth Exchange Program Concludes in Shillong, Strengthens National Integration
Shillong: The five-day inter-state youth exchange program, organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Shillong, successfully concluded today at the Youth Hostel in Shillong.
The event, which commenced on February 16, witnessed active participation from youth delegates from Mizoram, engaging in a range of activities designed to promote national integration and cultural exchange.
Throughout the program, participants took part in yoga sessions, language learning workshops, expert-led discussions, and cultural performances. They also visited historical sites, deepening their understanding of Meghalaya’s heritage while showcasing their own traditions. The initiative aimed to foster mutual respect and unity among young people from different states, creating lasting connections.
The closing ceremony was graced by Sibhi Chakravarthy, Director of Community and Rural Development, Government of Meghalaya, who lauded the efforts of NYKS in facilitating meaningful cross-cultural experiences. In his address, he highlighted the importance of embracing diversity and how such programs play a crucial role in bridging gaps between communities. He encouraged participants to carry forward the spirit of unity and broaden their perspectives through such engagements.
The exchange program successfully provided a platform for young minds to interact, learn, and appreciate cultural differences, reinforcing the core values of national integration through firsthand experiences and meaningful dialogue.
