Meghalaya: Laitkor SC Claims First Victory in OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024

Shillong: Laitkor SC celebrated their first win of the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 by defeating Nangkiew Irat SC 2-0 at the SSA Stadium on October 24.

The match saw Fridison Wanniang score the opening goal in the 60th minute, with Banskhem Kharkongor ensuring the victory with a second goal in stoppage time.

The momentum shifted significantly for Nangkiew Irat after Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait received a red card in the 65th minute, leaving his team with ten players.

Despite a hesitant start in their attacking play, Laitkor capitalised on their numerical advantage to secure the win.

In another thrilling match earlier in the day, Langsning FC overturned a deficit to defeat Nongthymmai SC 3-2. Michaelson Kurbah initially put Nongthymmai ahead, but Laldanmawia and Dajiedlang Wanshnong helped Langsning take the lead.

Although Ronald Singh equalised for Nongthymmai with a penalty, John Lalrinawma netted a last-minute goal to clinch the victory for Langsning.

The action in the league continues with today’s matches featuring Rangdajied United FC against Shillong Lajong FC, followed by a highly anticipated local derby between Ryntih FC and Mawlai FC.
