Guwahati: A prisoner who was serving a life sentence in connection with a murder case has escaped from the Jowai District jail in Meghalaya on Wednesday.
According to reports, this is the second time the prisoner has escaped from the prison.
The prisoner identified as Shiningstar Pala, a convict in a murder case.
Police have started a manhunt in the interim to find the prisoner who escaped.
The prisoner had previously escaped from the facility in May 2017, but he was apprehended after being located because of his involvement in a theft case.
