Meghalaya: Over 51000 Youth Receive Job Offers in Nationwide Rozgar Mela
Shillong witnessed a significant gathering on April 26th as Union Minister Pabitra Margherita led the Rozgar Mela at the State Convention Centre, where appointment letters for government jobs were handed over to numerous young individuals from across the country.
This nationwide employment drive, spanning 47 different locations, celebrated its 15th edition by distributing over 51,000 appointment letters to successful candidates who will now contribute to various government bodies such as the Income Tax Department, Department of Posts, Geological Survey of India, and Indian Railways.
Speaking at the Shillong event, Minister Margherita underscored the profound importance of these appointments, stating, “These are not just jobs; they are gateways to building the nation. In the last one and a half years, we have conducted recruitment drives with complete fairness.”
He further addressed the newly appointed individuals, highlighting the broader impact of their service: “Your journey ahead is not merely about building a career but contributing to India’s growth story. Every citizen you serve shapes India’s tomorrow.”
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Shillong, N. Longvah, extended his congratulations to the new recruits, remarking, “Today’s appointments mark not just individual achievements but a collective step towards strengthening public service in the country.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi connected with the attendees through a video conference, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in the nation’s progress: “When the youth actively contribute to nation-building, the country experiences accelerated development and earns recognition on the global stage.”
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted various government initiatives aimed at generating opportunities for the country’s young population, asserting, “Today, India’s youth are demonstrating to the world the immense potential we possess, through dedication and innovation.”
The newly recruited individuals, numbering over 51,000, are set to join diverse ministries including Revenue, Railways, Home Affairs, Posts, and Labour and Employment, marking a significant step in the government’s ongoing efforts to boost employment across the nation.
