Meghalaya Police Register Case Against Senior Army Officer for Alleged Sexual Harassment
Shillong: Meghalaya Police have filed a case against a senior Army officer for allegedly sexually harassing the wife of his junior colleague. The incident reportedly occurred at the Officers’ mess in Shillong on Sunday evening.
East Khasi Hills district SP Vivek Syiem confirmed the case and stated that a Brigadier was accused of sexually harassing the wife of a Colonel. An FIR was lodged on March 10 under various sections, including 75(2) (sexual harassment), 79 (insulting modesty of woman), and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the BNS at the Madanrting police station.
While no arrests have been made so far, the SP mentioned that a police officer has been assigned to investigate the matter thoroughly. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the facts surrounding the case.
