Meghalaya: Shillong Gears Up for 7th Act East Business Show, Focusing on Regional Trade Ties
Shillong: Meghalaya is poised to become a hub for international economic dialogue as it prepares to host the 7th Act East Business Show from March 25th to 27th.
The State Convention Centre in Shillong will serve as the venue for this significant gathering, aimed at fostering stronger trade and investment links between India, the BBIN nations (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal), and ASEAN countries.
The event, a collaborative effort between the Meghalaya government and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. High-profile participants include senior Indian government officials and diplomats from the Philippines, Germany, Indonesia, Cambodia, the UAE, Japan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal, all converging to discuss and explore avenues for enhanced economic cooperation.
Discussions will center on key sectors such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, with a strong emphasis on investment opportunities within Meghalaya. The agenda encompasses trade facilitation, regional economic partnerships, and advancements in technology, infrastructure, and sustainable business practices. The show will feature exhibitions alongside B2B and B2G meetings, designed to encourage business collaborations and promote trade expansion through effective policy support.
The three-day event will serve as a platform for robust dialogue on regional economic growth, culminating in a session dedicated to outlining Meghalaya’s long-term trade and investment strategies, setting the stage for future economic development in the region.
