Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority Resolves 292 Cases at National Lok Adalat

Northeast Desk, 16th September: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) successfully conducted the National Lok Adalat on September 14, 2024, across all districts of the state. This initiative, held under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), focused on providing swift justice and reducing the growing backlog of cases within the judicial system.

During the event, a total of 1,185 cases were considered, comprising 776 pre-litigation cases and 409 pending cases. Of these, 292 cases were amicably resolved, resulting in a total settlement amount of Rs 1,50,43,766 (One crore fifty lakhs forty-three thousand seven hundred and sixty-six rupees).

This effort underscores the state’s commitment to fostering accessible and efficient dispute resolution mechanisms.
