Meghalaya: Three NEHU Faculty Named Among Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University
Shillong— Three esteemed faculty members from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) have been recognized as part of the prestigious Top 2% Scientists of the World list, curated by Stanford University. This global distinction celebrates scholars whose research has had a profound influence across various fields, as measured through citation metrics from the Scopus database.
The honoured NEHU researchers include Prof. AK Chandra from the Department of Chemistry, Prof. Timir Tripathi from the Department of Zoology, and Dr. Shruti Shukla from the Department of Nanotechnology. Each has achieved significant breakthroughs, enhancing NEHU’s reputation in scientific research and innovation.
Prof. AK Chandra is celebrated in the field of theoretical and computational chemistry, known for his insights into complex molecular interactions, which are foundational to advancements in material and chemical sciences. Prof. Timir Tripathi has made his mark internationally in biochemistry and biophysics, contributing crucial findings on protein structure and pioneering approaches in drug discovery. Meanwhile, Dr. Shruti Shukla is at the forefront of nanotechnology, focusing on the development of nanostructures for innovative applications, including drug delivery, environmental remediation, and advanced material synthesis.
