Meghalaya to Get State-of-the-Art Synthetic Football Turf at Rongranggre Government Higher Secondary School
Northeast Desk, 22nd July: A new state-of-the-art synthetic football turf is set to be constructed at Rongranggre Government Higher Secondary School in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. The foundation stone for the project, valued at Rs 11,55,77,000, was laid by Public Health Engineering Minister Marcuise Marak.
Initiated under Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s administration, the project aims to enhance facilities for local youth and athletes. It will feature a FIFA-standard turf, a VIP rostrum, and changing rooms, aligning with international football infrastructure standards.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Vibhor Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills, the school’s Principal, and the District Sports Officer of East Garo Hills.
