Meghalaya: UDP Releases Third List of Candidates for Upcoming District Council Elections

Shillong: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has unveiled its third list of candidates for the Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council elections scheduled for February 21.

The announcement was made at the UDP party office, further advancing the party’s preparations for the crucial polls.

The latest list features four candidates: Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah, Anthony Khongwang, Lee Trevor S. Bareh, and Mewan Pasi. These additions bring the UDP closer to finalizing its roster for the elections, which are seen as pivotal for local governance and the representation of regional aspirations.

This development follows the party’s earlier announcement in December, where a total of 35 candidates were declared. With the elections approaching, the UDP continues to solidify its strategy to secure significant representation in the district councils.
