Meghalaya’s PIMC Hospital Joins Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Shillong: Meghalaya’s PA Sangma International Medical College and Hospital (PIMC) has been officially included under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

This significant development follows the receipt of a letter from the National Health Authority, Government of India, confirming the hospital’s empanelment after successfully completing all the necessary requirements.

To ensure smooth implementation, the State Health Agency Meghalaya conducted a comprehensive training program at PIMC, USTM, for all doctors, nurses, and technical staff. This training aimed to equip the hospital personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively utilize the AB-PMJAY scheme.

Furthermore, PIMC, under the guidance of the State Nodal Agency-Meghalaya, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd. This partnership will facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of the scheme within the hospital.

In a testament to its commitment to sustainable energy practices, Meghalaya has been honored with second place in the Group-D category of the National Energy Conservation Award for the second consecutive year. This prestigious award, presented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, recognizes the state’s exceptional efforts in promoting energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and fostering a sustainable environment.
